Toile Dog Collars — A Classic Print, Finally on a Collar

Toile de Jouy has been on European fabric since the 18th century. It's been on wallpaper, bedding, upholstery, and dishware for three hundred years. It is, without question, one of the most enduring pattern traditions in decorative arts.

It has never, until now, been on a waterproof silicone dog collar.

That's the gap we're here to fill.

Lu & Liv's toile dog collar designs take the classic single-color vignette tradition — scenes from nature, pastoral life, coastal settings — and reimagine them through a Lowcountry lens. Think: scenes of Charleston harbor life, Southern flora and fauna, coastal vignettes rendered in the classic two-tone toile style. All original artwork. All designed in-house.

On waterproof silicone construction. Because a toile collar that can't go to the beach is a missed opportunity.

Designed in Charleston, SC. Three centuries of print tradition. One very good collar.

Frequently Asked Questions

Toile de Jouy (pronounced "twäl-de-zhwee") is a classic French textile pattern featuring detailed scenic vignettes printed in a single color on a light background. Developed in 18th-century France, it's been a staple of interior design for centuries — found on wallpaper, upholstery, bedding, and decorative objects.

Yes. Every pattern is original artwork designed in-house. We're not reproducing historical toile — we're designing new toile-inspired patterns rooted in Lowcountry scenes and Charleston visual culture.

Classic toile is traditionally a two-color pattern (vignette on a light field). We'll launch with a range of colorways — including the classic navy and cream, plus some softer and more unexpected palette combinations. Join the waitlist to be first to see them.

It's an emerging one. The Grand Millennial aesthetic revival has brought toile back into major interior design conversation — and dog accessories are following the same direction as home decor for the design-conscious dog mom.
